Presented in 2.5D, “A Walk Home” explores the high-paced nature of Shoot Em’ Ups, better known as SHMUPS, and introduces the player to a desolate suburban street, filled with empty cars.

 

A scene in which they must defend themselves from blood-thirsty Demons to reach the comfort of their home. In doing so, the player must weave and navigate through cars and around enemies to reach the end of their street. 

 

The introduction of an enemy wave system, and rare health system, will encourage the player to make rational decisions. The “Demons” faced in this fast-paced game are deathly afraid of light, and therefore, the player must equip themselves with matches for their journey.

 

As the player ventures closer to their home, the enemies will become more persistent in chasing the player, as more waves are produced as the Player proceeds. Enemies will also become more aggressive, as their speed and attack damage increase with every wave.

A Walk Home is an action-packed, top-down shooter that invites the player to take an eerily long walk to get home.

Transition into a land of anxiety, adrenaline, and pure evil, as the player fights darkness with their trusty set of matchsticks. Taking place in a familiar sweet and safe town, that seems almost desolate as a full moon rises...
